Old people healthcare massager Methotds

Massage is the rubbing, raising and patting in certain parts of the body, or acupoints with our own hands for promoting the blood circulation, improving the digestive function, strengthening the bones and muscles and increasing the ability of disease resistance. This kind of massage is easy to learn, convenient and suitable for family health-care. If the old people can do it for several times a day, it may be able to prevent or treat colds, low back pain and leg pain.

 
There are several massage methods for old people as belows:

  • 1. Wash the face without water: Rub the two palms to make it heated, then rub the face repeatedly with them like washing the face, first clockwise, later anti-clockwise, until the face gives off heat.  
  • 2. Comb and scratch the head: Put two hands on the both sides of head with the separate five fingers, then scratch the scalp like combing the hair from front to back and outside to inside.  
  • 3. Rub the eye socket: Put two thumbs on the both sides of the temples and the index finger on the eye socket, then rub the eye socket repeatedly from inside to outside and top to bottom.
  • 4. Rub the temples: Put two thumbs on the both sides of the temples, press and rub them repeatedly, first clockwise, later anti-clockwise.    
  • 5. Rub the nose root: Put two thumbs or the index finger on the both sides of the nose root to rub it up and down repeatedly .   
  • 6. Rub the Fengchi Point: Put two thumbs on the Fengchi Point behind the pillow, separately put the other four fingers on the both sides of the head naturally, press and rub it repeatedly.
  • 7. Rub the neck: Rub the two palms to make it heated, then put them behind the neck and rub the neck back and forth, until the neck skin gives off heat.
  • 8. Pinch the shoulders: Put a hand on the opposite side shoulder with the thumb in the front, the other four figures behind, rub and pinch it to raise the muscles of the shoulder repeatedly. Carry on this on the both sides in turns. 
  • 9. Rub and pinch the arm: Put a hand on the opposite side arm, then rub and pinch it up and down repeatedly from the inside to the flank. Carry on this on the both sides in turns.     
  • 10. Press and rub the abdomen: Put the two hands folded on the abdomen, press and rub it repeatedly within the scope from small to big, first clockwise, later anti-clockwise.
  • 11. Hammer the waist: Put the two hands separately on the two sides of the waist, rub it repeatedly from top to bottom, then changes the palm into the fist, hammer the waist repeatedly.    
  • 12. Pinch the calf: Put the calf on the opposite side thigh with the two thumbs inward and the four limbs outward, rub and pinch it up and down repeatedly, Carry on this on the both sides in turns. 
  • 13. Shake the malleolus: Put the calf on the opposite side thigh with a hand on the heel tendon, rub and pinch it repeatedly; Another hand holds the front part of the foot, and shake the malleolus joint, first clockwise, latter anti-clockwise. Carry on this on the both sides in turns.
  • 14. Rub and pinch the foot: Put the calf on the opposite side thigh with a hand holding the heel, another hand rubs and pinches the bottom of the foot repeatedly. Carry on this on the both sides in turns.

 
Notice:   

  • 1. Keep sitting when doing the massage generally. Sit in meditation for a moment and relax the whole body first before massaging. 
  • 2. The proper power of massaging should be felt comfortable by yourself; it should be light on the face and slightly heavy on the four limbs and the waist and back
  • 3. Massage may be carried on for a complete set or only several selected movements. Generally it would be better to massage the head and face when getting up in the morning and massages the whole body before going to bed in the evening.
