Dietary Therapy for Hyperlipidemia

Besides the treatment of lipid-lowering drugs, the dietary therapies can also achieve the lipid-lowering effect on treating Hyperlipidemia.
 
Braised Three Mushrooms, Jew's-ear and Tremella Fried with Tofu, Pseudo-ginseng and Polygonum Multiflorum Congee, Hawthorn and Lotus Leaf with Rhizoma Alismatis Tea, Lipid-lowering and Weight-losing Tea are all the diet therapies that the hyperlipidemic patients may often use.
 
1.Braised Three Mushrooms
Functions:  lipid-lowering, lowering the blood pressure, cancer prevention.
Formula:  each for 25 grams of dried mushrooms, mushrooms and straw mushrooms, 50 grams of tender corn shoot slices, a proper amount of delicious soup and a little farina and seasoning.
Making:  Put the dried mushrooms, mushrooms, straw mushrooms into the fresh water for foaming and cleaning, stir-fry them in a pan with oil, put into the delicious soup and tender corn shoot slices and boil them together then. Put into the farina and seasoning (salt, MSG etc.) as it is cooked, finally stir-fry them for a short moment.
 
The administration method:  take it when eating as an assistant meal.
2.Jew's-ear and Tremella Fried with Tofu
Formula:  15 grams of Jew's-ear, 300~500 grams of fresh tofu, 15 grams of tremella, a proper amount of delicious broth and a little fermented bean curd, ground pepper, coriander, oil, salt, monosodium glutamate.
 
Making:  1.Put the Jew's-ear and tremella into the fresh water for foaming, cleaning, and removing impurities, quick-fry them in a pan with oil; wash and cut up the coriander. 2. Wash the tofu and cut it into some 2-centimeter-sized small solids, put them into the pan and fry them together with the fermented bean curd, then put into the Jew's-ear, tremella, delicious broth, coriander, ground pepper, salt, monosodium glutamate, finally cook them until it is done.
 
The administration method:  take it when eating as an assistant meal.

 

3.Pseudo-ginseng and Polygonum Multiflorum Congee

Formula:  5 grams of Pseudo-ginseng, 30~60 grams of Polygonum Multiflorum, 100 grams of rice, 2 red dates and a proper amount of white sugar.
Making:  1.Put the pseudo-ginseng and polygonum multiflorum into the fresh water for cleaning, and simmer them in a casserole to get the thick juice then; 2. Put the rice, red dates and white sugar into the casserole, add a proper amount of water and boil them into a thin gruel first, then put into the thick juice, simmer it on slow fire until it is boiling after stirring it, and put out the fire as the congee is thick and sticky. Finally simmer it in the covered casserole without fire for 5 minutes.
 
The administration method:  take the tepid congee as breakfast and supper. Do not cook it in a metal pan. 
4.Hawthorn and Lotus Leaf with Rhizoma Alismatis Tea
Functions:  eliminating the fat, lowering the blood pressure.
Formula:  15 grams of hawthorn, 12 grams of lotus leaf and 10 grams of rhizoma alismatis.
Making:  Cut the three sorts of herbs into thin slices, simmer them with water or brew them with boiling water, finally get the thick juice.
The administration method:  Everyday taking one dose instead of drinking tea. Eat raw hawthorns or drink the cooked congee of them.  (Please note people excessive gastric acid should not do this).
