Chronic Hepatitis Treatment from Chinese Medical

Clinically, it is called the chronic hepatitis for the liver inflammation that still exists after an acute hepatitis course and for more than a period of six months. Most cases of chronic hepatitis are changed from acute viral hepatitis.

 Medicinal herbs: each for 10 grams of fried rhizoma atractylodis, dried tangerine or orange peel, bark of magnolia, Poria cocos, radix pseudostellariae, 4 grams of white nutmeg (lay it later), each for 20 grams of caramel, fried rice sprout, fried malt and the seed of Job's tears. Simmer the herbs with water and drink the soup then. Add 10 grams of the fruit of melia toosendan and Xuanhu for treating costal pain; add 3 grams of goldthread and 10 grams of Rhizoma Pinellinae Praeparata for treating nausea and vomiting; add 15 grams of capillary artemisia for treating jaundice.

 

2. Fatigue: The characteristics of chronic hepatitis include a general weakness, tiredness, sleepiness, laziness and a dispirited mind.

This is caused by the weakness of the spleen and stomach and insufficient Qi. The treatment takes the one which benefits the Qi and spleen. Medicinal herbs: each for 15 grams of codonopsis pilosula, Radix astragali and Chinese yam, each for 10 grams of fried white atractylodes rhizome, dried tangerine or orange peel, Poria cocos, the tuber of pinellia, 6 grams of roasted licorice, 15 grams of red jujubes. Simmer the herbs with water and drink the soup then. Add 10 grams of rhizoma atractylodis and bark of magnolia for treating the stuffy chest, the lump in the gastral cavity and white coating on the tongue; add each for 15 grams of sedum sarmentosum, Japanese st. johnswort, fruit of Chinese magnoliavine for treating the patients with a high ALT.

 

3. Abdominal Distension: The abdominal distension is a common symptom of chronic hepatitis patients, which belongs to the liver depression, unhealthy spleen as well as cold and wet obstruction in the theory of Chinese medicine.

The treatment takes the one which eliminates dampness, benefits the spleen, regulates the flow of Qi and eliminates the distension. Medicinal herbs: 10 grams of costol, 3 grams of fructus amomi, each for 10 grams of dried green orange peel, bark of magnolia, white atractylodes rhizome, betel nut and trifoliate orange shell, 15 grams of the membrane of a chicken’s gizzard. Simmer the herbs with water and drink the soup then. Add 10 grams of Chinese rhubarb for treating constipation; add Poris cocos Macrocephalae Pills for treating the patients who suffer from excreting the sugar.

 

4. Costal pain: The costal pain of hepatitis is very common in clinical cases.

It is caused by the disordered liver, depressed Qi and obstruction of the liver channels in the theory of Chinese medicine. The treatment takes the one which dredges the liver and regulates the flow of Qi. Medicinal herbs: 8 grams of bupleurum chinense and costol, each for 10 grams of the root of herbaceous peony, Poris cocos, dried orange peel, plum blossoms with green calyx, Xuanhu and trifoliate orange shell, 6 grams of licorice. Simmer the herbs with water and drink the soup then, or take the prepared medicine Xiaoyao Pills. Add 10 grams of Chinese angelica and the fruit of the Chinese wolfberry for treating the insufficient Yin in the liver and dull costal pain; add 10 grams of safflower carthamus and myrrh for treating the blood stasis and stabbing pain; add 10 grams of the peony tree bark and gardenia for treating the  liver depression forming fire, dysphoria and thirst; add 30 grams of the lysimachia christinae and 10 grams of curcuma for treating cholecystitis; add 30 grams of tortoise plastron and turtle shell, 10 grams of roasted pangolin scales and rhizoma sparganii, which can be added into the patent medicine Simmered Turtle Shell Pills for treating the patients who suffer from hepatosplenomegaly or cirrhosis.
